What her business does
Customised canvas paintings for nurseries, children’s rooms and playrooms
Her business journey and how she arrived at the business idea and started her own business

When I was pregnant with my son, I really craved to draw and paint. I chose The Lion King theme for his nursery and decided to paint pictures on little canvases to match his cot set. Actually, it was my husband who encouraged me to pursue it as a small business.

What she finds most rewarding about having her own business
It’s something that I love to do at my own pace.
How she approaches being a mum and an entrepreneur

Being a mum is my #1 priority. The mornings are super busy for us, with playgroup, story time at the library and playdates with friends. So he naps well after lunch. After I get done with cooking dinner, I sit down to work till he wakes up and back at it again after bedtime. With my husband being away 3 days of the week (for work), I get to work for a while at night as well.

The biggest challenges she has faced in her business
Spreading the word. I recently moved to Adelaide and did not know many people, so reaching out to mums to let them know about my business has been a bit of a challenge.
How she overcame those challenges
I made a few business cards, talked to a lot of mums who attend library activities for bubs and children and handed them out.
What do you celebrate as accomplishments in your business?
Seeing a smile on a clients’ face when they see your work
Advice to mums considering entrepreneurship
Don’t be afraid to take that step! The moment you do, it gives you this sense of confidence like never before. I admire all mums, especially the ones who have taken the initiative to be a mumtrepreneur
